Terberg Tractors Malaysia currently manufactures its terminal tractors at its manufacturing and assembly facility in Pasir Gudang, Johor. The terminal tractors are exported via the 11 territory dealers.

The dealerships were formalised during an inaugural Dealers Summit held in Johor Bahru recently which also outlined the dealer territories, dealer development programmes and product support and services.

Chairman of Terberg Tractors Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Mr Chong Kwea Seng said, “The markets in Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia have responded very well and we occupy the lion’s share in these markets.”

“Last year, we clinched RM80mil worth of contract orders from PSA Singapore Terminals (PSA), the world’s largest container transhipment hub. The contracts encompass manufacturing and supplying almost 300 units with options for another 330 units of Terberg terminal tractors. We view this as a major breakthrough and a validation of the high quality and standards of our manufacturing capabilities,” explained Mr Chong.

Established in 2005, the company was appointed to exclusively distribute Terberg terminal tractors in over 45 countries in the Asia Pacific region. In the 2013 financial year, Terberg Tractors Malaysia achieved a revenue of RM76mil and is anticipated to double this in 2014.

Commenting on the expansion of its infrastructure and market development, General Manager of Terberg Tractors Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Mr Boo Wei Ching said, “Terberg terminal tractors are renowned for reliability and efficiency; these are two imperative qualities in port operations. We have also established our expertise and track record in Malaysia over the years and with the recent milestone regional successes, we are confident of performing well in our new dealer territories. We are currently in talks with potential dealers to enter Myanmar, Cambodia and Bangladesh.”

Mr Boo further explained that, “TTM will invest more than RM2 million to upgrade the current infrastructure which will enable us to triple our production output. This system requires high level of coordination between material resource planning (MRP) and the production line. We are looking at a lean production line to keep wastage at a minimum and maximise productivity.”

Terberg Tractors Malaysia’s manufacturing and assembly facility is located in Pasir Gudang, Johor. The company is currently in the midst expanding the facility to cater to market demand.
