This is the 11th conferment to a sukuk issuer since the introduction of "Emas" status in 2009. "Emas" is Malaysia's designation for foreign currency denominated bonds and sukuk originating from Malaysia in the global capital market.
Bakke said Sime Darby is honoured with the conferment as it recognises the success of the endeavour. "We are proud to support the Government's ongoing initiatives and efforts to position Malaysia as an international Islamic financial centre," Bakke said.
